"There was a period of a little over three years in between the writing and recording of Invisible Man and VERSUS. During this time, I focused on who I was as a person outside of music as I wanted my life experiences to speak more than they had prior. I relocated to New Orleans and subsequently to Oakland soon after. I experienced those trials and tribulations of being in and ultimately out of a relationship. I learned who I was in my own dead ringer skin. This being said, the VERSUS album was a natural progression from the last. It is a more palatable album by Hip-Hop and/or mainstream standards, and it became the perfect canvas for my personal growth.
